Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) in Los Angeles, CA

Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

A plastic surgeon will perform an arm lift (brachioplasty) to reduce excess sagging skin on the arms. This surgical procedure tightens and smooths out the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of your upper arm.

Benefits of An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)?

One of the most embarrassing places on your body to have extra skin and fat is the upper arms. Arm lift patients want to address the excess skin and fat that develops as a result of normal aging or after weight loss. All lifting procedures result in greatly improved body contouring, and an arm lift can leave you with toned and more youthful looking arms.

Is An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Right For Me?

Do you want to get rid of the excess skin and fat on your arms? An arm lift is an excellent option for individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight. If you have lax skin that interferes with regular activity and limits clothing options, you may be a good candidate. Contact us now to set up your arm lift consultation with Dr. Schwartz and find out if this procedure is right for you.

What Is An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Procedure?

An arm lift can be used to tighten excess skin on your upper arms. Arm lifts are performed under general anesthesia and are often performed along with other body contouring procedures, such as a body lift, thigh lift or abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). During your procedure, an incision is placed under the arm, beginning at the armpit and extending to the elbow. The length, and location of your incisions is entirely dependent upon your individual concerns and the amount of excess skin that needs to be excised. Dr. Schwartz removes any excess skin and superficial fat and then closes the incision as invisibly as possible. Dr. Schwartz carefully selects his incision pattern to best disguise scarring, and uses expert closures and dressings to provide optimal healing of the incisions.

The procedure takes about one to two hours, depending upon the amount of fat and excess skin.

How Long Is The Recovery After An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Procedure?

After your brachioplasty, you will experience some minor soreness and mild bruising at the incision sites. This can be diminished with pain medication and ice packs. Most patients are back to full activity within a week. When you leave Dr. Schwartz’s office following your procedure, your follow-up appointment will be set, and you’ll visit us within a few days to check on your progress. Dr. Schwartz recommends that patients avoid strenuous physical activity for about a month after their procedure and also avoid any contact sports or other activities that might cause trauma to the area. You will find that the scar will always be somewhat visible, but will fade over time to a fine line.

How Much Does An Arm Lift (Brachioplasty) Procedure Cost?

The cost for your procedure will vary based on your personal needs, aspirations, and safety considerations. During your consultation, Dr. Schwartz will discuss your options and together you will come up with a plan of treatment that is appropriate for you. Dr. Schwartz accepts all forms of payment and offers excellent financing options to make more procedures available to more patients.
